We offer 24/7  Emergency Water Extraction!

Here Are 4 Immediate Steps

You MUST Take
to Minimize Your Losses

1. AVOID HAZARDS! Be extremely careful of the deadly combination of water and electricity. Also, be cautious of slippery wet carpets and floors. Stay away from Raw Sewage backups, which contain nasty bacteria and can be harmful to your health.

2. STOP THE SOURCE! If you haven’t located the source of the water, call a reputable plumber immediately and he will guide you through this (it is very crucial to know what to do.)

3. TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION by calling  PRO STEAMER 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call us now and we will be at your home within the hour.

4. REMOVE FURNITURE! Wood furniture will cause stains which cannot be removed. Rust stains from metal are difficult to remove and may be permanent. 95% of water damage jobs are restorable, and the 5% which aren’t restored, most are caused by not doing this. So move furnishings out of wet areas, or protect legs from moisture absorption with triple-folded aluminum foil. Pin up draperies and upholstery skirts to prevent water circles. Our IICRC certified technicians will properly restore your home. There’s no need to worry about the health hazards of mold, mildew, or bacteria later surfacing, due to improper cleaning or drying methods!

       About Our Water Damage Services

Hi, Victor Ruiz here again. I know that going through the trauma of water damage can be quite an upsetting, disruptive and inconvenient event destroying your home or business, personal property and irreplaceable family heirlooms.  But unfortunately pipes break, appliances leak, washers and toilets overflow, it rains heavily, the list goes on and on. But please remember Pro Steamer is just a phone call away and we are here to help if you need us. We will perform the following techniques for a Water Damage situation:

  • Extract water from all surfaces.
  • Remove all furniture from effected area if possible and place blocks underneath furniture that cannot be removed.
  • If needed, lift carpet (if possible) from floor and remove padding and discard.
  • Spray an antimicrobial on all surfaces to retard (not eliminate) microbial growth.
  • Place air drying equipment underneath carpet.
  • Set up commercial dehumidification equipment.
  • Examine all sensitive content items; antiques, books, musical instruments, etc. for specialized drying techniques.
  • If the pad was discarded, the carpet will be installed with new padding and the carpet cleaned.

There is a BIG difference between a ‘carpet cleaner’ and a water damage restoration specialist.

I'm sure you know there are a lot of guys out there with trucks or shop vacs who can ‘suck’ out the water.  Truthfully the carpet is just the tip of the ice berg.  The entire structure is our main concern.  If not mitigated quickly and thoroughly, water loses will continue to get worse, a condition known as secondary damageIt may be hidden to the eye for weeks or months but can continue to destroy walls, floors and the structural integrity of a building.  It can also foster an unhealthy environment including microbial growth, mold, health hazards, bacteria, odors, ruined carpet and furniture the list goes on and on.  The severity of  damage, amount of time passed and the source of the water will make a difference in how the damage is handled.

back to your clean, dry and healthy home?

We have been helping residents from Roswell, NM and the surrounding areas restore their homes and businesses for over 10 years!

As a local, family owned business, people trust us with restoring their home and possessions to pre-loss condition.  We provide personalized service to each and every client. We will help you walk through the whole process from water extraction, drying, necessary repairs or replacement and cleaning so your life can get back to normal as soon as possible.

Specialized Training

We are certified by The Clean Trust (formerly IICRC - Institute of Inspection Cleaning & Restoration) in Water Damage Restoration.  As part of this training, the classroom was flooded and we learned how to dry the structure, walls and contents to pre-loss condition.  We learned how to use and interpret results of our moisture meters.  The science of drying was a focus, it includes psychometrics, dew point, airflow, saturation, grains of moisture, temperature, humidity.  We understand how and why things dry.  We learned different drying techniques for different situations.  This allows us to save and restore your home and contents if they are salvageable instead of removing, demolishing and rebuilding affected areas.

Emergency Response

We respond to Emergency Water Damages 24/7 and can generally be on-site within an hour!  We understand that a quick response and containment of water damage is the most important step to minimizing damage, cost and the total time required to restore the damage.

Inspection & Documentation

A thorough inspection of the property includes determining the exact cause of the loss and verifies that repairs have been made to eliminate the source of water.

This inspection includes categorizing the water loss as: Clear, Grey or Black water, AND then after extraction, determining the classification of the water loss to choose the right drying procedures.

We then define the affected areas with the use of moisture detection equipment. Our technicians record initial moisture readings that will be monitored on subsequent visits. This helps track the progress of our drying efforts. Your job's drying progress is managed and monitored everyday.

Inspection tools such as our penetrating and non penetrating moisture detection meters allow us to detect every drop of water, determine the extent of the damage and monitor the drying environment to maintain a proper balance of temperature and humidity to dry things as quickly as possible and therefore prevent mold and microbial growth.

We use all our moisture meter readings and the science of Psychrometry to determine the optimum set of air drying conditions, and equipment needed to dry the structure ASAP. Psychrometry is the science that takes into account the relationships of temperature, humidity, air movement, and time and their effect on various structural materials.

Frequently Asked Questions on Indoor Mold

As Adapted From the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website:

Q. I heard about toxic molds that grow in homes and other buildings. Should I be concerned about a serious health risk to me and my family?

A. The common health concerns from molds include hay-like allergic symptoms. Individuals with COPD, asthma may experience difficulty breathing. If you or your family members have these conditions, including immune suppression, a qualified medical doctor should be consulted for diagnosis and treatment. For the most part, one should take routine measures to prevent mold growth in the home.

Q. What are the potential health effects of mold in buildings and homes?

A. Mold exposure does not always present a health problem indoors. However, some people are sensitive to molds. These people may experience symptoms such as nasal stuffiness, eye irritation, or wheezing when exposed to molds. Some people may have more severe reactions to molds which may include fever, and shortness of breath. People with chronic illnesses, such as obstructive lung disease, may develop mold infections in their lungs.

Q. How do you know if you have a mold problem?

A. Large mold infestations can usually be seen or smelled.

Q. How do you get the mold out of buildings, including homes, schools and places of employment?

In most cases mold can be removed by a thorough cleaning with bleach and water. If you have an extensive amount of mold ( more that 10 sq feet per industry standards) and you do not think you can manage the cleanup on your own, you may want to contact a professional who has experience in cleaning mold. Mold growing in homes or other buildings, whether it is Stachybotrys chartarum or other molds, indicates that there is a problem with water or moisture. This is the first problem that needs to be addressed. Finally, if you are susceptible to mold and mold is seen or smelled, there is a potential health risk; therefore, no matter what type of mold is present, you should arrange for its removal.
